Inca Sun Salt Peru Sun-dried salt flakes from the Andes: mild, clear-mineral and finely crunchy – ideal as a precise finish.

· Category: seasoned salt (sun salt, Peru)
· Taste: mild and salty, clearly mineral; delicate, slightly yellowish flakes
· Use: fish & seafood, ceviche; steamed vegetables, salads; light sauces; avocado bowl
· Format: 150 g jar; 400 g stand-up pouch

My tip: Scatter 1–2 pinches only just before serving – that way the flakes stay crunchy and the fine Andean minerality comes into its own.

Origin & Story

This special salt comes from the highlands of Peru – from salty water near Machu Picchu. Since Inca times this water has been led across terraced basins, right up at altitudes above 3,000 metres. Only about 10 cm deep, the basins catch the strong Andean sun. After a few weeks the salt concentrates enough to be harvested – exactly as it was centuries ago.

Highlights

Inca sun salt is a pale delicacy: sun-dried, clear and fine in texture. The flakes have a delicate, slightly yellowish colour and a mild, balanced flavour. The natural purity of this source is striking – far from any industrial use, set within quiet mountain landscape. The salt feels pure, light and utterly authentic.

Quality

The salt is obtained entirely by hand. It contains a high proportion of minerals, including calcium, potassium and magnesium – noticeable in aroma and crunch. It is not refined, contains no additives whatsoever and is left completely natural throughout. This salt reflects its origin in every flake.

The best spices have always inspired me to create new dishes. Only the best is good enough to reach the very top – for you, in your kitchen. 100% natural. Just the way I use it myself, every day.

Tip from Tobias Funke

"Inca sun salt is my first choice for fish dishes, ceviche or simply steamed vegetables. A pinch of it lifts the natural aromas and radiates freshness and clarity."
