Ground Ginger
Ab CHF 10.–
Ground Ginger brings a warm, slightly hot and citrus-fresh seasoning into your kitchen. The fine powder feels drier and earthier than fresh ginger, dissolves quickly in hot liquids and gives curries, teas, baked goods or marinades a clear, precise warmth. The essential oils come into their own especially well when the ginger is simmered directly or stirred into warm liquids.
Category: spice
Taste: warm, citrus-fresh, slightly hot, dry and earthy
Use: curries, tea, marinades, baked goods, lassi, muesli
Format: 40g jar / 200g stand-up pouch
My tip: Always use ground ginger sparingly – a small touch is enough to give sauces, butter or marinades depth without becoming dominant.
Origin & Story
Ginger (Zingiber officinale) is one of the oldest spice and medicinal plants in the world. Its origins lie in Southeast Asia – our ginger comes from Indonesia, where the tropical climate and nutrient-rich volcanic soils create ideal conditions. Some of our batches are grown by smallholders like Ibu Ratna or Pak Dewa, who work their hillside fields by hand. The robust rhizomes are carefully harvested, peeled, sun-dried and ground right there on site.
Highlights
Our ginger is ground very finely – giving a creamy-beige powder with a fresh, slightly citrus-like fragrance and characteristic heat. Compared with fresh ginger, the ground version feels warmer, drier and slightly earthy – and comes into its own especially well in hot liquids. Ideal for teas, curries, baked goods or marinades.
Quality
Our ginger roots come from sustainable cultivation in Indonesia. They are harvested at the optimal moment, when the essential oils are at their most intense. After cleaning and drying, the roots are ground right there on site – no fillers, no additives, no compromises.

Only the best is good enough to reach the very top – for you, in your kitchen.
100% natural. Just the way I use it myself, every day.
Tip from Tobias Funke
Ground ginger isn't simply the dried version of fresh – it stands on its own. I use it in spiced butter, add it to light jus or combine it with honey, soy sauce and garlic for a deeply savoury marinade. A touch is enough – it works more through structure than through dominance.
